UNIT 3: ANIMAL KINGDOM VIDEOS
UNIT 3: ANIMAL KINGDOM - VERTEBRATES
Do you like animals? What is your favourite animal?
Do you know, how many animals species are there on the world? No? Well, sit down then.
People know more than one million of animals species (or different animals) on the world, but scientist discover a lot of new species every year.
So nowadays we know that there are at least
- about 60.000 vertebrate animal species and
- about 1,200.000 invertebrate animals species.
But don´t worry that we are not going to talk about all of them. We are going to start with theVERTEBRATE ANIMALS (those that have a backbone and skeleton); and later on we will see theINVERTEBRATE ANIMALS (those that have not got a backbone nor an internal skeleton).
WELCOME TO THE VERTEBRATES´ WORLD ! ! !!
Vertebrate animals have got a skeleton made up of bones.
There are five groups: mammals, reptiles, birds, fish and amphibians.
